The first Column expresses the Distance from one Place to
another; the second, the Distance from London.
The Word in Italic immediately following the Place to
which the Measurement is directed implies the Point opposite
to which it is given.
Towns and Places where Post Offices or Receiving Houses are
established are distinguished by this Mark †.
N.B. The Inns at the different Places on each Road which
supply Post Horse and Carriages are selected, and given at
the End of every Route.
