From this year the mothly magazines are bound as 1 volume
in 2 parts for each year, each with a title page for the
volume/part. Each part is for six months; part 1 January to
June, part 2 July to December; as would be expected. At
another period the arrangement was, for a short while,
December-May, June-November. The pagination for the year
still runs continuously through the whole year. The volume
numbering and page numbering arrangements change later.

NB: In general, prefaces are not studied in this
