Holme Coultram
Parishes
CUMBERLAND.
In a Convocation holden at Oxford on the 3rd Nov. the
instruments authorising the division of certain portions of
Hulme Cultram, into three several districts, were
sealed. The patronage of this widely extended parish belongs
to the University, and by a former grant of 50l. per
annum to each of the three churches of St. Paul, St.
Cuthbert, and St. John, three resident clergymen will now be
secured, in a district the greater part of which was several
miles from the parish church, and so dispersed as to render
an attendance on divine worship during the greater part of
the year utterly impossible.
