NOTES from MORDEN'S and BROWNE'S MAP of SEA COASTS,

These notes are taken from a chart, a New Mapp of the Sea
Coasts of England Scotland and Ireland, scale roughly 38
miles to 1 inch, by Robert Morden, The Atlas, Cornhill, and
Christopher Browne, The Globe, St Paul's Churchyard,
engraved by Sutton Nicholls, published London, 1688. The
item studied is in the Map Room, British Library, item
Maps[star]1108(4).

11.5d W, 49d to 59.5d N; England and wales, Scotland
including Orkney, and parts of the coasts of France,

and the Seine are drawn further inland, by a wiggly
line.

Like most charts settlements are only shown along the
coasts; labelled, no symbol. London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and
Paris are marked by circle, buildings, towers.
