page 141:-  "... t Montreal Mine, near Moor Row, which was said to contain the largest deposit of ore found in West Cumberland, the ore was reached at a depth of 45 fathoms, and an equal depth, namely, 45 fathoms, was sunk in ore-bearing strata, while the lateral extent of the ore-bearing ground is about 36 acres."
