November 22. The Magistrates of Whitehaven issued an order, offering two guineas bounty for every able sailor that should enter voluntarily with the proper officer there, to serve the royal navy, in which they were followed by the gentlemen of the town; so that every sailor who enters there will receive 9l. 4s. The corporation of Newcastle have offered the same bounty with that of Whitehaven. |
