After his defeat at Culloden, the end of the 1745 Rebellion, six supporters of Bonnie
Prince Charlie were hanged here, 21 October 1746. Colonel James Innes, Forfarshire
Regiment; Captain James Lindesay, Kilmarnock Regiment; Ronald MacDonald, Ronald, Clanranald
Regiment; and Thomas Parr, Peter Taylor, and Michael Dellard, of the Manchester Regiment. |
