"Railway viaduct. 1875 by J.S. Crossley engineer for the Settle-Carlisle line of the Midland Railway. Rock-faced red sandstone masonry with brick soffits to the arches. Nine arches of 45' span on battered piers with imposts and continuous band at track level. Solid parapet. In unaltered condition and very attractively sited."
